Our two indulgences: the master tub (can't wait) and the emergency generator. It will keep the freezer, fridge, some lights, a plug or two and the microwave functioning when the power is off.

Transfer panel. One furnace per floor. Roofing complete. Front door view.

Inside framing is done. At this point it looks huge!! The vaults are amazing. The electrical is started. Nephi Rogers is helping Bart with wiring. Nephi lives in my great-grandpa Ether Rawlings home in Fairview.

The back door and kitchen and master bedroom window.

Common Cents Construction setting the trusses.

Kyle and family came for the July 4th holiday and brought rock. After watching the 4th of July parade in Lewiston, Mark's kids and Kaden and Kyler help unload it for use on our fireplace.

Kirt, Crista and family visiting from Shingle Springs, Calif.

Hot and tired, Bart laid down on the bedroom floor for a rest. The framing continues!

Bart started the framing on June 22nd; with help from Kyler Stoker and Shane Selley. Shane and Kyle also helped. At this point, it looks really small. Can the office and music room really fit in that tiny space?

Getting ready to pour the basement floor. Base plumbing, foundation sealing, backfilling and placement of window wells has been done!

Bart arrives at the site at 6:00 am, anxious to get a picture of the foundation with the forms removed. This is looking south=southeast.

Pouring the foundation walls. At this point it looks big.

Footings done with foundation forms going up. At this point, it looks small!

We have a hole....

All in one days work!

Groundbreaking May 19, 2009 at 8:30 am. The hole is being dug my President Doug Porter, Bart's high school football buddy and the member of the Franklin Stake Presidency that serves as our Stake Young Women's Presidency advisor. After I took his picture, he had me get in the backhoe and he took a picture of me!
When we first moved back to Preston in July of 2004, we wanted to build a home. We rented until our home sold in Huntington, Ut. We looked at all of the property and building lots for sale in the Preston area and couldn't decided on one, even after careful prayer. Then, Bart was called as the second counselor in the Preston 8th ward bishopric and we knew why we couldn't pick a lot. Heavenly Father had other plans for us. We bought a home in the 8th ward and settled in for the duration of his calling (approx. April of 2010.) During the last four years we have enjoyed our ward and his calling has given him tremendous growth. But, we realized we still had a dream of building our own home. August of 2008, brought both of us the feeling we should sell our house but we decided to see the calling through another year and sell the house in August of 2009. Then Bart was released in March of 2009, within a couple of weeks we made an offer on 2 acres in Fairview and started drawing up plans. We closed in April and started building in May. We are so excited! And, we feel so blessed and grateful to a loving Heavenly Father for His many blessings to us. Our goal is to have Thanksgiving dinner in our new home. Now, this one needs to sell!!!
